The music center does not turn on

Due to the use of small and fragile parts in its design, modern household appliances are sometimes too "delicate" in use, and breaks down quite often. Music centers in this regard are far from an exception. However, in order to repair the MC, sometimes it is not necessary to carry it to the service - sometimes you can fix the breakdown on your own. This article will discuss what to do if the music center does not turn on.

Reasons why the music center may not turn on

Before you take on a screwdriver and a soldering iron, you should understand why the device could stop working. Among the most frequent, most service center specialists distinguish the following:

  1. Mechanical damage to the "filling" of the MC due to falling, shock, shaking and other external influences.
  2. Development of a resource of details.
  3. Use of poor quality media.
  4. Damage to the circuit board or power supply after sudden voltage drops in the mains.
  5. Media viruses.

IMPORTANT!Another common cause of breakdowns, experts call attempts to independently disassemble the device in order to clean it from dust. For the MC to serve for a long time, it is necessary to trust its cleaning only to professionals with experience in working with similar equipment.

What to do if the music center does not turn on

In order to understand what exactly caused the malfunction of the MC, it is necessary to carefully inspect the device body and wires for mechanical damage. The presence of voltage in the wires leading to the speakers can be easily checked using a screwdriver with a tester. Also, in order to localize the breakdown, you can connect a working column from any other equipment to the base. If the sound does not play, then the reason is definitely in the device itself.

If no external damage is detected, and the speakers are working properly with another device, it is worth disassembling the device case. In order to do this, you need to use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew all the fixing bolts of the case, and then remove its back panel. This will help to get to the central board of the MC, and inspect it.

If during the analysis there is a sharp smell of burning from the power supply of the device, then most likely the fuse has blown. In order not to have to change the entire power supply, it is worthwhile to look at the value of the failed fuse in the operating instructions or on the device itself and replace it with a suitable one. If the nominal value of the replaced part does not coincide with the value set by the manufacturer, then one of the channels may subsequently fail.

ATIMPORTANT!If the user does not have any skills in radio electronics, all manipulations involving working with a soldering iron, replacing electronic circuit boards and small parts are not recommended, because this can only aggravate the breakdown.

When inspecting the main board, it is worth examining the input connector. In the presence of outgoing contacts and damaged soldering, use a soldering iron to restore the contact of the wire. Specialists for such purposes most often use solders with a low melting point, so as not to damage the small parts of the board.

Particular attention should also be paid to capacitors: if the sides and top are slightly swollen, then they must be replaced. Not necessarily the cause of the breakdown will be one swollen capacitor, however, if it is not replaced on time, then soon the MC may need to be repaired again, and much more serious.

If the device turns on, but plays audio files with significant interference, then the cause may be a malfunction of the power amplifier chip. In order to find out for sure, the device should be started and play a sound in every possible mode. If the same interference occurs in both the radio and the MP3 playback - the amplifier chip must be replaced.

After carrying out all repair operations, the device must be reassembled in the reverse order and run to verify operability.

It often happens that the MC itself turns on and functions, however, one of the speakers does not reproduce sound. The reason for this is most often the speaker speaker malfunctions, which can be caused by:

  • the formation of condensation on the membrane;
  • wire breakage on the diffuser;
  • debris trapped between the coil and the magnet;
  • demagnetization;
  • physical damage to the membrane.

To eliminate condensation, you can try to warm the membrane with an incandescent lamp. If the membrane is damaged, then its performance cannot be restored, and it must be replaced.

As you know, it is easier to prevent a malfunction than to correct its consequences. In order for the MC to serve for a long time, it is necessary to clean it from dust and lubricate the necessary parts from time to time, as well as keep it away from heating appliances and prevent foreign objects and liquids from entering the disc tray.
